How to play

  1. 1 Find what is swapped

Tap what does not fit, above and below: one word, or up to three side by side.

The board: above, “Gioachino Rossini opened his own opera house in Rome in 1876 with the complete Ring cycle”; below, “Richard Wagner endured a disastrous premiere of The Barber of Seville in Bayreuth in 1816”. “Rome” and “Bayreuth” are chosen.
  2. 2 Swap until both are right

The red button in the middle swaps them. Every swap is a move: the fewer, the better.

The solved puzzle with the card “Solved in 2 moves, Minimum: 2”.
  3. 3 Find out what’s behind it

Once a puzzle is solved, “Background” shows the facts, with sources to read on.

The card “Background” with two facts about Wagner and Rossini and four sources from Wikipedia.

Over 300 puzzles in eight categories

This is about knowledge, not guesswork: names, places, years and terms have changed sides. Who climbed which mountain? Who wrote which book? What happened when?

Plus topics such as Climate, Horses, Pop and Anime, from easy to tricky. “Mixed bag” shuffles twenty puzzles from all categories, and a “Hint” helps without giving the solution away.

A new puzzle every day

The puzzle of the day is harder: three sentences instead of two.

Words change places between sentences that lie next to each other, so a word in the wrong place has two places it could go. Solve it day after day and build a streak.

A puzzle of the day with three sentences about the first ascents of Mont Blanc, the Eiger and the Matterhorn. The years 1858 and 1865 are chosen.
