For an error in a puzzle, the category and the number of the puzzle help us. Both stand at the top of the board, for example “Climate, Puzzle 3 of 10”. For a problem with the app, your iPhone model and the version of iOS help us.
How to play
The screen shows two sentences, one above the other. Each holds words that belong in the other.
- Tap a word in the upper sentence, or two or three words next to each other. Do the same in the lower sentence.
- Tap the button in the middle: the words you chose change places.
- The puzzle is solved when both sentences are right. The line under the head says at all times how things stand.
- “Undo” takes the last swap back, “Restart” puts the puzzle back to its beginning.
- “Hint” gives a clue. “Solution” shows the right sentences; the puzzle then does not count as solved.
- The puzzle of the day has three sentences. There you swap between two sentences that lie next to each other: top and middle, or middle and bottom. Each of the two bars has a button of its own.
Frequent questions
Why can I not go on to the next puzzle?
“Next puzzle” opens once the puzzle is solved or you have shown its solution.
Why can two words not be swapped?
Identical words cannot be swapped, for example “The” above for “The” below. The swap would change nothing.
What is free, and what does the full version add?
Free are the introduction, 20 puzzles of your choice from all topics and, every day, the puzzle of the day. A puzzle counts once it ends, solved or with its solution shown. What you have played stays open. The full version is a one-time purchase in the app, not a subscription: it opens every topic and lets you catch up on puzzles of the day you missed.
I bought the full version, but it is not there.
Open the menu, tap “Full version” and then “Restore purchase”. The full version belongs to your Apple Account: it also holds on a new iPhone and after deleting the app, and with Family Sharing for your family.
Where is my progress kept?
On your device, not with us. If you delete the app, your progress is gone; the full version stays yours. If you set up a new iPhone from a backup, your progress comes along.
How do I play a category again?
After the last puzzle of a category the game shows a summary. “Play again” starts the category from the beginning. The results you had in that category are lost.
Why do I not see new puzzles?
The game downloads new puzzles when it starts, if the device is online. They appear on the list of categories. Without a connection you play with the puzzles that are already on the device.
How do I change the language?
In the menu: the button at the top right of the list of categories opens it. Every topic exists in German and in English.
